My fascination with the outdoors began as a child-- from being four or five and placing a freshly caught bullfrog in my sleeping mother's bed, to catching snakes in the creek at my grandparents' farm. The only thing I wanted was to be like my role model, the great Steve Irwin! Finding, identifying, and capturing photos to document species—boring to some, an endlessly amazing hobby for me.At twelve, one of the greatest persons to ever enter my life was born. Twelve lonely years as an only child were finally over; no longer a lone woods adventurer, I was now an older brother! Once A.J. could walk, I remember us hiking, fishing, camping—you name it. If it could get us outside, we loved it.As A.J. grew, he developed his own passion for nature and photography. As a Boy Scout he was very in tune with nature, trying to clean up after less-caring adventurers on every hike and expedition. We continued to nurture our love for every aspect of nature; from the time A.J. was 14 and I was 26, we brainstormed business plans to become an unstoppable team focused on preserving this world's natural beauty.We decided to start creating videos and photographs for TikTok of the locations we frequented. The Pinnacles in Madison County, Kentucky is probably our most visited place together, along with many of our local lakes, hiking trails, WMA's, and campgrounds. We enjoyed exploring 'the great outdoors' and seeing how many species of animals we could find in any given place, constantly searching for and finding interesting floral and fungi we had never seen in person before. In October 2024, A.J. took his own life. The only way my heart can begin to heal is by doing what makes me feel closest to him. Every moment we were not working was spent collaborating on hobbies or exploring outside, I only see it fitting to get out and explore enough for the both of us. So here I am, getting out and starting to make our dreams a reality.
